IDEA Hacks 2020

A Hack to do with College Lifestyle

This was the second followup hackathon for IDEA Hacks. With a littls witch of a team we managed to win the educational prize! This time we had to make something that would complement college lifestyle, and after some quick brainstorming we decided to make a textbook reader! Below is a little post I wrote on linkedIn about it.

One hack of a time [Part 2]!

A year later, I went in for IDEA Hacks at UCLA 2020 not remembering the sleeplessness and fatigue of the previous #experience, but seeking the thrill of #innovation under time-pressure.

Our team won the Educational Prize for our product: a physical book reader that turns pages, converts text to speech, and reads it aloud.

Another huge thank you to my teammates Ashvin Nagarajan, Jeffrey Anderson, Annie Zhao, Param Shah!

From my experiences, I see how #effective hands-on projects can be for learning a #skill, just like improving #SolidWorks in these #hackathons is an example. Likewise, learning to work in teams and be #accountable was critical to keep each other #motivated and work #effectively. I look forward to collaborating and expanding my skill-set further in future competitions!

A special thank you to Wonsulting, Jonathan Javier💡, and Tanya Raja (she/her) for the encouragement and #support to start posting on LinkedIn!

Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you enjoy this video of our hack, "The Fl!p"!
